Provence 2024

FLOWERS EN PROVENCE

We are so excited to be teaching a workshop in May 2024 at Les Terres de Pierre, a magical 18th century Provençal farmhouse and olive grove estate in the Alpilles region of southern France. We will hold two teaching sessions - a hand-tied bouquet and a foam-free arrangement - using beautiful locally grown flowers and wild materials foraged from the incredible surrounding landscape. Each session will begin with a full demonstration, followed by friendly and constructive feedback for each individual and their work.

When and where?

This one day workshop will take place on Wednesday 29 May 2024 at Les Terres de Pierre in Southern France.

Hameau de Baumettes, 13890 Mouriès

Parking is available. Please note there is no accommodation included - for those travelling from further afield we recommend Chateau de Servanes which is a 5 minute drive.

The closest airport is Marseille Provence, which is 45 minutes by car and serviced by British Airways from London Heathrow, RyanAir from London Stansted and EasyJet from London Gatwick

Who can take the workshop?

Anyone who loves flowers! From beginners and those exploring a new artistic medium to seasoned arrangers, gardeners and cut flower growers looking to develop their floral craft, reignite the fire or practise fresh techniques in a sustainable way.

Please note this workshop will be taught in English. Our hosts speak both French and English.

A PAINTERLY SETTING

Join us for a day of flower arranging in a truly magical place - together we will create artistic arrangements to evoke the beauty of the local landscape. Bathed in spectacular light and surrounded by the soft, painterly colours of Provençal olive groves, this is the perfect setting to switch off, unwind and immerse yourself in the meditative process of arranging flowers. Our hosts Prune and William are a supremely creative couple with many talents, producing organic olive oil, fruit, almonds and soap from their estate - the farmhouse houses an aromatic olive oil ‘tasting room’ as well as Prune’s artisanal ‘plumasserie atelier’ where she creates incredibly intricate works of art from feathers.

What is included?

Snips and vases will be provided. All floral materials will be locally sourced and foraged. Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided including tea and coffee, cakes and fruits. A delicious Provençal lunch will be prepared by William in the cavernous farmhouse kitchen, with samplings of the estate’s olive oil and wine from the local region.
