Our private flower-arranging classes are tailored to your requirements, whether you are hoping to start with the basics, focus on something specific, such as hand-tied bouquets or large-scale arrangements, refresh existing skills or simply spend an inspiring day with exquisite flowers and friendly, supportive instruction.
We will teach you how to approach arranging flowers in an unstructured way, respecting and layering the natural shapes of each element. We will discuss colour, form, scale and setting, and demonstrate flower arranging using traditional techniques including chicken wire and flower frogs.
Our garden-inspired style celebrates using the most enchanting flowers of each season, and we place great emphasis on the selection of materials available for each student's class.
From April to October we primarily use flowers and foliage from our own cutting garden - scented narcissus, anemones, ranunculus, tulips and fritillaria in the spring; garden roses, foxgloves, iris and sweet peas in the summer; dahlias, cosmos, Japanese anemones and rosehips in the autumn. Students can also expect foraged materials including sculptural blossom and fruiting branches, shivery wild grasses, vines and berries, adding unique elements to each design.
Choose from our selection of antique props and vessels to arrange in, and colourful ribbons in silk and velvet to decorate bouquets and buttonholes.
BOOK A CLASS
Day classes start from £710 and include all materials, coffee and nibbles in the morning, a delicious light lunch and of course beautiful flowers to take home and enjoy.
We encourage you to bring your camera; classes provide a great opportunity to practise photographing flowers for portfolios and social media, and to document your arrangement taking shape.
We run a limited number of bespoke classes for each season, in addition to larger group workshops throughout the year and teach our classes as a pair, so our students benefit from two sets of expertise and advice.
To book your class, please email us with a selection of your preferred dates and details of what you would like to learn. We are now taking bookings for 2019.
